Facility Overview
Nestled in the forest in the outskirts of Nara, the Korakukan Youth Center is inside the Kounoike Undo Park. A gymnasium, martial arts center, Japanese archery range, and track & field facilities are available. Waterfowl are present in nearby Kounoike pond, and the residents of the city enjoy coming here for relaxation. The Youth Center's aim is to nurture healthy, strong minds and bodies for friendship between the youth that come here, through training, recreation, and outdoor activities. Lodging is available for large groups, and cultural and artistic group activities may also be performed here.
Operating Hours
- Day trip use is from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- Hours for overnight use will depend on the schedule.
Days the Center Is Closed
- Wednesdays
(when Wednesday falls on a holiday, the Center will be closed the second following day)
- the day after a holiday
(unless that day is a Saturday, Sunday, or another holiday)
- The end and begining of the year
(from December 26 until January 5.)

Payment for day-trip use must be made upon arrival, payment of overnight use may be made at departure time.
Food and beverages are not included in the overnight fees shown above. They must be paid separately to the cafeteria.
Reservations
Reservations for overnight use can be made up to 3 months in advance. Reservations for day trip use can be made up to 1 month in advance.
For reservations, please fill out a reservation form and submit it to the Center office between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Directions to the Center
Take a Nara Kotsu bus and get off at Kounoike. From there it is 2 minutes on foot.
