Public Parks The city of Nara is working to complete public parks and other areas of green in the city for its citizens to enjoy and also as places to take refuge in times of calamity. Creative use of abundant greenery is emphasized in each type of park. As of April 2002, there are 417 neighborhood, district, and exercise parks in the city of Nara, including those managed by the prefecture.
