This building is located on the hill on the north side of Nara city. This two-storied building and main gate are built of bricks. There is a bronze triangular tower on top of the building. Nobody thinks it is a prison because of it`s great splendor. Older people in Nara called it "Red Gate College". This is one of my favorite buildings, and I had sketched it several times. I sketched the red gate shining in the evening sun.
