Daian-ji in autumn

By Fumikazu Tatsumi

The Daian-ji Temple is one of the Nara Nanto Seven Temples. It used to be called the Great South Temple with the Todai-ji Temple and the Saidai-ji Temple. I imagine the temple had been splendid and glorious. The surrounding of the precinct still remains a vestige of its former pomp. In autumn there are the red leaves of the maple, and the yellow leaves of the ginkgo in the temple precinct.
