Kasuga Gusha

Kasuga Gusha

By Yoshio Yoshimoto

This is the Kasuga Gusha at the south of the Kasuga Taish. The red Torii and the building stands out beautifully in the green trees. When the Japanese andromeda flowers blossom, it is quite beautiful, furthermore, in the autumn with the red leaves it is also very nice in Nara. I sketched from the front of the shrine in November. Many tourists visit the shrine and several weddings are also performed there. I sketched some deer on the path looking back as if they noticed some people approaching. The deer are a very big part of Nara`s history.
