Uguisu-no-Taki

By Masaru Ueshima

The Uguisu-no-Taki is located in the profound Kasugayama Primeval Forest. The clear water called "Yamato Water" has played a big part in the life of the people of this district since the old days. It has been selected as "Yamato Famous Water 100" by the Excellent Water Environment Dept. I am not sure why it is named the Uguisu-no-Taki. When I stand by the basin of the waterfall and look into it quietly, I can see the rocks covered with the moss of the Japanese bush warbler(Uguisu) color. The white spray of falling water, and the sound of the waterfall I imagine that the Japanese bush warblers are about ready to come flying in for the fresh water.
